Kristi Young, Founder & CEO
Kristi Young was born and raised in Houston, TX, and owes all of her success to parents Fretitia & Tilda Young who taught her the value of education and hard work, as well as the importance of following your dreams. She began playing the violin in grade school, and her passion for the arts grew to include playing several instruments (clarinet, flute, alto saxophone, trumpet, and piano), as well as acting in local/college productions. She graduated from Houston’s High School for the Performing & Visual Arts in 1998 with a focus in classical music performance, then from The University of North Texas in 2002 with a BA in Anthropology.
However passionate about the arts, Kristi was eager to transition into the business world after college and pursued a career in Corporate Recruiting working for companies such as Fossil, T-Mobile, JC Penney, and Technisource (a subsidiary of Spherion). She found her niche in Corporate College Campus Recruiting, which afforded her the opportunity to create cutting edge Social Media campaigns via MySpace, Facebook, and Blogging to attract and connect with college students at a grass roots level. These accomplishments led to a welcomed invitation to speak at The University of North Texas’ “Women of Color Conference 2008,” and to 2 appearances as a panel expert on NTTV’s Public Access TV show “Real Talk” in 2008.
Kristi Young has been able to successfully combine her interest in the arts with her delight for people and desire to succeed in the business world to create The Young Agent. She is ambitious yet quirky, with a disarming sense of humor. She is passionately creative with the capacity to generate abstract ideas and bring them to life.
